NEW ALAAFIN OF OYO INTERVIEW PROCESS

 


We would like to officially confirm that the selection process have begun for the new Alaafin of Oyo as 86 candidates began their screening exercise today under very tight security and close door by the Oyomesi, members of the council, state and federal government institutions.

The interview process which is featuring 10 princes with two witnesses after the interview is expectedly to allow for transparency in the selection process. The government of Oyo State have continually emphasized that they would allow the kingmakers to select the Alaafin and they would ascent the will of the people as presented by the Oyomesi.

The interview process continues tomorrow and the whole world is watching for the outcome of the interview process. As much as it is, the names of the candidates that were interviewed would not be made public as we do not in any way want to pre-empt the process but allow the traditional selection process to be exhausted and the new monarch enthroned. We shall keep you all updated but the world and everyone who have no business in the process are not welcomed at the palace as it is an entirely family affair and only the candidates that are been screened are expected at the palace of the Alaafin of Oyo for the screening.
