As the elections of 2027 is drawing near, there are alignment and realignments of party members. Political pundits have opine that this does not seem to be the best of times seeing that Oyo State happened to be the state that was to host the national convention of the PDP and currently there are court rulings for and against the hosting of the convention. Be it as it may, some party faithfuls are already taking the exit door into other parties.
In Oyo metropolis many staunch and foundational members of the ruling party in Oyo have decided to dump their party and move to the All Progressive Congress as a result of diplomatic moves of Prince Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi a move which started last week during the meeting of the APC where loyalists of late Prince Adebayo Adeyemi who came second losing by a narrow margin decided to dump the ruling party in Oyo State.
Many would have thought that the decamping will end with the Oyo East/West PDP members who decamped but the PDP members in Atiba have reportedly dumped the PDP and moved into APC. The decamping led by Hon Olakojo Kafilat, former Chairperson of Atiba Local Government,
Dr.Waheed Sodiq former Chief Of Staff, Hon Abass Olubuse, Hon Azeez Rokeebat, Idris Sega former Youth Leader, Hon Lola Nurat Alao and Hon Akeem Ayankojo and their supporters have pledged their loyalty to the APC. The former Youth Leader of PDP Idris Sega while speaking said the enviable track records of the APC government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Prince Akeem with many facilitated projects and employment opportunities. Seeing that they are progressive minded and want what is best for their community they have decided to join the moving train of APC. The former woman leader of PDP in Atiba also buttressed these points testifying that Prince Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi have always been magnanimous to them ensuring that they and their people are beneficial of facilitated projects and benefits hence when the time came to decide it was easy for them to choose APC.
