The Basorun of Oyo, High Chief Yusuf Akinade, Olayinka I while speaking on the sudden passage of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adekunle Abdul-Ganiyu (Ajinese Ologunebi I)the ASEYIN of ISEYIN, described the news as a very sad event which have befallen the good people of Iseyin and Oke Ogun environs. The Basorun said that barely a few weeks ago, the Oyomesis visited the Aseyin of Iseyin on leaving a programme that was held in honor of the Alaafin Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III by Barrister Ahmed Raji (SAN) not knowing that would be the last time we would be seeing, though we had earlier talked before we attended the event.
He will be greatly missed and the contribution he has been able to make as the traditional ruler in Iseyin since his ascension cannot be waved aside. He was an erudite scholar and a king of immense knowledge, but as there is nothing anyone can do when the time for one to join his ancestors have come.
On behalf of the Oyomesis, the good people of Oyo we are expressing our heartfelt condolences over the sudden departure of this great ruler from Oke Ogun axis of Oyo State. We ask God to grant him rest as he joins his ancestors. We pray that God will be with the entire Iseyin people he left behind, the, Oloris, princes and princesses. To the good people of Oyo State and Yorubaland in general, may we not lose another untimely but may their towns continue in peace.
Signed
